Adoption Consultant

2 hours weekly. You determine how many applications you want to handle

  • Contact applicant upon receipt of application

  • Review GRRA policies with applicant and discuss information on application through a telephone interview

  • Request home check to be performed by Home Check Team

  • Serve as primary contact for applicant while they pursue a dog with GRRA

Canine Behavior & Training - Fosters

  • Evaluate and/or review dog’s history for behavior issues

  • Recommend and provide training and resources for the dog’s specific needs

  • Create behavior management plans with guidance from manager

Manager, Canine Training & Behavior

Canine Training & Behavior Manager

  • Manages and provides oversight to Canine Behavior & Training team

  • Assesses specific needs of dogs being considered for intake

  • Assesses specific needs of rescue dogs

  • Provides training leadership at rescue events

  • Assist in writing content for monthly newsletter and other GRRA communications throughout the year

  • Helps by taking a shift to manage our GRRA informational phone line and/or "help'" email, directing the information to the relevant GRRA Team or individual.

Condolence Cards

IT Support/Technology – Several Areas of Specialty

This position takes approximately 10-15 hours per week to effectively support the technology segments of GRRA and provide assistance to volunteers and management of GRRA on a daily basis.

  • Familiar with (either or several): SalesForce, WIX, Google, Emails, Constant Contact, Adobe, Zapier, Excel

  • Create reporting and support end users with problems/questions

  • Must be computer savvy

Director of Technology or other Technology Team members with knowledge of particular systems as they pertain to GRRA

All Volunteers (but will receive training as to how these areas are of particular interest and how they are used in GRRA)

Intake Coordinator

  • Assists with intake requests from: Shelters, Owner Turn In, Hotline, and email requests

  • Assists the intake team when making the final decision if a dog meets requirements and to take the dog into program

  • Follows the process to complete the intake and documentation, as well as works with the intake transport team for safe delivery of the dog to our designated Vet

Inventory Manager

Warehouse located on Holcomb Bridge Road near 400 in Alpharetta

Usually 1 - 2 hours per month; varies when needed

Help track GRRA materials to and from the warehouse in Alpharetta. May assist in transporting kennels to and from foster or events when needed.

Medical Team - Vet Care Coordinator (VCC)

This position takes around 10-15 hours per week. This is also completely dependent upon the number of dogs the VCC is responsible for, and can vary up to more hours if GRRA has an abundance of fostered dogs at any time. This job is also "time sensitive" in that this position requires the volunteer be available for emergencies or routine questions from our vets and fosters.

  • Helps schedule vet appointments for new Intake dogs and/or foster dogs

  • Tracks microchips and all appointments, including neuter/spay procedures

  • Job requires Attention to detail as these duties pertain to the health/medical well-being of our GRRA dogs

  • It is imperative that the VCC be knowledgeable in using Microsoft Word, Excel, email, editing documents, and general computer skills. The VCC also needs to be available to take/answer emails (also calls or text messages) directly from the foster/FTA if they have any questions or concerns and

    communicate effectively with vets’ offices.

  • The VCC needs the ability to be incredibly flexible as things often change at the last minute and VCC should be able to provide a reasonable and timely solution, or seek help from the GRRA Medical Director.

Meet & Greet Day

Approximately 4 hours one Sunday each month between 11:00 - 3:00 p.m. when Meet & Greet is held

  • Set up before event and clean-up materials after event

  • Escort registered applicants to meet dogs and record their adoption  preferences

  • Explain GRRA adoption process to prospective adopters

  • Hand out & retrieve GRRA leashes, bandanas, etc before/after event

  • Ensure fosters have appropriate signage and assistance where needed

Microchip Coordinator

Varies upon volume

The MicroChip coordinator is responsible for re-registering microchips for every dog that

comes into GRRA with microchips that have been previously implanted. They are also

responsible for communicating with all new GRRA adopters to ensure microchips have

been transferred/registered into their name within a reasonable amount of time after the

adoption has occurred.

Varies from possibly 5 days to good adoption match (sometimes 4-5 weeks)

  • Provide safe and nurturing environment for our dog and socialize where possible. Provide information about the dog in their care to the Team of Foster Coordinators. Provide accurate Foster Evaluations to help ensure best suitable Family placement. The goal is to prepare the dog to successfully transition into a permanent adoptive home.

  • Be available to transport the GRRA dog to any required veterinary appointments (or emergency care) as needed.

  • Participate in monthly Meet and Greet events to showcase the dog to potential adopters.

  • Assist in the adoption process by meeting with prospective adopters, either in your home or the adopter's, to help ensure a suitable match and smooth transition.

GRRA Foster Team will train you, prior dog ownership experience helpful

Special Events

Represent GRRA at events in the community to promote awareness of  the rescue, fundraising, adoption functions

  • Work directly with the Intake Coordinator to pick up a new intake
