I've had some recent changes in my home situation, and GRRA stepped in to help me find my new forever home. Unfortunately, they also discovered that I have heartworms. But don't worry — they're taking care of those pesky worms for me! While I go through treatment, they would love to find me a loving family and a calm home where I can recover and get ready for my next chapter.
I may be 6 years old, but I'm still a happy, goofy boy who loves to play fetch and splash around in the water. Those favorite activities will have to come to a screeching halt for the next few months, though, because my heartworm treatment means I need to stay calm and keep my heart rate down. My foster family will need to help me take it easy with short, quiet activities and mental stimulation while I recover.
The good news is that I absolutely love people and thrive on attention! I'm happiest spending time with my people, whether we're relaxing together in the house or enjoying some quiet time in the yard.
I don't care much for thunder or sudden noises, and I could use a little fine-tuning when it comes to walking nicely on a leash. Though I was used to living outside, I have been keeping my kennel clean and going potty outside as any smart dog does.
If you have the time, patience, and loving heart to help me through the next few months — and then give me the forever home I've been waiting for — I hope you'll take a chance on me. I have lots of love to give and can't wait to be someone's happy, goofy boy!
