Life Stage

Golden Retriever

Bear’s Bio
Hi, my name is Bear and if I do say so myself, I am a rather handsome 5-year-old Crème
Golden Retriever. When I first came to Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta I was not feeling
very well and was a bit grumpy. It turned out that I had bladder crystals, which turned into
stones. I feel much better now after surgery to remove the stones and am mending from the
surgery very quickly. I am in GRRA’s Paws for Success Program relearning manners and
managing my assertiveness. I have learned a good deal about people “calling the shots”. I hope
that my new adoptive family will continue to make the decisions for me and reinforce all I have
learned because I am a loving dog. It would be best if I went to a home with no children. Older
teenagers or young adults who are dog savvy would be ok if they hold me to the rules that I
have worked so hard to learn. I love to play, especially with balls and toys. Taking long walks is
another fun activity. It would be great to try hiking or jogging with my new family. The more
exercise and play time I get the better. My teacher says I am very affectionate and suggests that
I be an only dog as I bond to my people quickly and would prefer not to share them with other
dogs. I hope that I find my forever home soon and really look forward to meeting my new family
and beginning a new chapter in my life.
