NOEL AND HER PUPS NEED
YOUR HELP
GRRA was
contacted in late December by the Athens-Clarke Animal Shelter to come
look at a female golden retriever. Debbie Glover, the wonderful overseer
of Murphyville, rescued this girl and since it was so close to
Christmas, named her Noel. When Noel was taken to the vet to be examined
and brought current on shots, GRRA discovered this sweet girl was about
5 weeks pregnant and also heartworm positive.
Noel’s puppies were born on 1/27
and even though the sonogram showed 5 pups, she gave birth to 7 adorable
little ones. Puppies need a lot of attention and socialization and
Debbie is making sure that happens so they will be wonderful additions
to their new homes. The puppies are thriving and are featured on our
Available Dogs page.
Now GRRA is faced with the
expense of vaccinations and the spay/neuter of all the puppies. In
addition, once the puppies are weaned, Noel will need to start her
heartworm treatment. The vet estimates all the medical expenses will
cost GRRA approximately $2,000.
Thanks to our wonderful
supporters, GRRA doesn’t have to turn away dogs in need because of the
medical expenses. Look at the faces of the puppies and know they
wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the kindness of our supporters. If
you are able to help, please go to our Donations page. Any and all
donations are greatly appreciated. Noel thanks you and GRRA thanks you.
