How can I find a new home for my Golden Retriever?
Sometimes we are faced with a situation where we are no longer able to properly take care of our beloved pets. At GRRA, finding Goldens Retrievers new, loving forever homes is our passion and we are here to help!
GRRA specializes in matching each dog with the right pre-screened home, so your Golden Retriever will have the best chance of finding the perfect forever home by being placed into the GRRA program.
When you are ready to find a new home for your Golden, please follow the process outlined below:
- Complete the on-line Intake Request Form
- E-mail a picture or two to intakecoordinator@grra.com
Once the form and picture(s) have been submitted a GRRA rescue volunteer will contact you, normally within 24 hours.
If your situation is an emergency or you are unable to use the Intake Request Form, call our Rescue Hotline at 678-964-GRRA (678-964-4772).
Please contact GRRA before taking your Golden Retriever to a shelter. Getting dogs directly into the GRRA program will minimize their emotional trauma, help prevent them from contracting diseases and eliminate the probability of euthanization.
We accept purebred Golden Retrievers and occasionally high Golden mixes into our program. We no longer accept Labrador Retrievers or mixed breed dogs, but there are a number of great dog rescues in the metro Atlanta area that do. Below are a few links that may be helpful.
