The Lori Kauffman Volunteer Of The Month Award

Stephen Dyer is the recipient of the December 2009 Lori Kauffman Volunteer of the Month Award

Congratulations to Stephen Dyer, our December Volunteer of the Month! Steve keeps GRRA's website up-to-date with the latest news and dogs available for adoption. Steve and his wife, Christine, became acquainted with GRRA approximately 18 months ago when they adopted Emma Jo. Christine found GRRA when searching on the internet for rescue organizations.

Shortly after adopting Emma Jo, Christine began volunteering at adoption days. In July, Steve began managing GRRA's website after hearing GRRA's need for a volunteer with these skill sets. Steve enjoys giving back to an organization that helps both dogs and the adopting families. The website allows GRRA to reach out to more people who are interested in adopting goldens.

Being in front of a computer comes naturally to Steve as this is his profession. While working, Emma Jo frequently stops by to see what Steve is doing. She and Steve are shown at the right reviewing the GRRA website.

Thank you, Steve, for all you do for GRRA and the dogs!

Lori Kauffman, who passed away in 2007, was a GRRA™ volunteer who wanted to ensure that GRRA™ continued to do its valuable work. Lori wanted people to know, "Dogs are not disposable. Having a dog is a lifelong commitment. They are an equal part of the family".
